TWO NETT HOLES-IN-ONE FOR PAULINE MONGAN

Pauline Mongan (36) was the worthy winner of the Ramsey Crookall-sponsored Sunday series Stableford. Her 43 points included not one, but two nett holes-in-one. The first, a stunning six-pointer eagle on the par five 3rd, was followed by a five-pointer birdie on the 6th.

RIGHT RECIPE FOR JON WAGSTAFFE ON PRESIDENT’S DAY

Big Jon Wagstaffe (10) got the recipe right, winning the President’s Cup with an outstanding 45 Stableford points. His wonderful one over par round included three birdies which almost compensated for two bogeys and the slippery six sustained on the dog-leg 4th.

POETRY IN MOTION – CHRIS DUNN WINS THE VICE-CAPTAIN’S TROPHY

With a runaway winner, there’s only one. This time it was the wily Christopher Dunn. A four-pointer birdie and pars times eight, Dunn more than punched his weight. A tremendous two over at the turn, Dunn had spare shots to spurn. Winning the Stableford with 41, a fine achievement for Mr.Dunn. Oh, and by the way, there were only 16 holes in play.

VETS SUCCESS PLUS GREG EASTON WINS THE SYD ASHWORTH CUP

The Syd Ashworth Trophy, played at Castletown on Saturday, was kindly supported by Syd’s son Bill. Returning refreshed from a recent holiday in Portugal, Greg Easton (14) shortened his swing to win the trophy with 42 points.
