Tournament Rules and Conditions of entry:

1. The Old Tom Open Competition will be played as a Medal Competition over 36 Holes. The Winner of the
Competition will be the Competitor returning the lowest gross aggregate score for 36 Holes.

2. The Old Tom will be played under the Rules of Golf, the Rules of Amateur Status, and the Equipment Standards Rules of The R&A and USGA.

3. Any Trophy presented (not yet acquired, one to be sourced ASAP) will remain the property of Castletown Golf Club and be kept on permanent display in the Clubhouse. At a future date, a replica maybe acquired which will be the winner's to keep.

4. Entry into The Old Tom is available to Male Amateur Golfers who are bona fide members of recognised Golf Clubs or iGolf (England Golf) and are in possession of a Handicap Index not exceeding 5.9 at time of entry.

5. The field will be restricted to the 45 players entered with the lowest playing handicap index when signup closes. A ballot will be used to restrict the field to that number if necessary. Players balloted out will have any entry fee refunded.

6. A Starting Sheet for each round will be displayed on this site and sent to those Competitors who have supplied an e-mail address. Players may not request specific tee-times nor will requests for playing partners be accepted. In the event of a genuine emergency that prevents a player from playing at his allotted time, at the discretion of the Committee/Administrator, an attempt maybe made to accommodate a modified time.

7. No refunds will be made once the draw has been made and published to the field.

8. The Committee will replace players who scratch with applicants from the reserve list.

9. Play will be in three-balls, or if necessary, two-balls in 10 minute intervals.

10. In the case of a tie, a winner will be determined by a Play-off, from the 1st tee and sudden death. If no winner is determined, players will carry on until a winner is established. Holes will be played in routing order.

11. Our Winner is requested to attend the Prize Presentation on Saturday 19th October as part of Castletown Golf Club's End of Season Dinner.

12. Other than the Winner, all other prize winners will have prize credits in the form of Pro Shop vouchers to be used in Castletown's Pro Shop and within 365 days of date of issue.

13. Smart Casual Dress is required in the Clubhouse and on the Course.

14. Catering facilities will be available on the day at players’ expense. Players are advised to pre-order (not essential) any food in Bay Green prior to Rd 1 play.

15. The Competition Committee reserve the right to refuse an entry without assigning a reason for such action. The committee reserves the right to vary the number of competitors or to extend the closing date for entries. Any dispute arising shall be referred to the Committee for their decision which will be final.
Entry for this competition is balloted to 45 entries. Online entry does not guarantee a place in the final competition.
This competition requires that fees be paid to complete entry. If the payment process is not completed, your entry may be removed.
